You Work Hard, You Pray Hard, ...
You Play Hard!
Paul teaches to give of ourselves fully to the work of the Lord (1
Corinthians 15:58), and to “serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving
the Lord, not men” (Ephesians 6:7).
So as Christian men and women, we work hard, we perform with
integrity; we do all we can to serve others. We glorify God with our work
by utilizing our God given talents and abilities. But we are not to let our
work become our master.
The older we get, the more we realize that time is one of our most
precious gifts from God. It is our only non-renewable resource; you can
spend it, but you can never make more.
God wants us to honor Him with our time. God wants us to spend time with Him. Go to
Him in prayer. Pray hard. He also wants us to rest, relax, and enjoy life.
Genesis 2:2-3 (NKJV) reads, “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He
had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then
God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work
which God had created and made.”
Worship our heavenly Father on the Sabbath … rest, relax, enjoy life. Play can definitely
be a part of that rest, and it is necessary to restore our souls from worldly culture. Spend
time enjoying the fruits of your labor. Play hard!
But ... “In everything you do , put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts
with success.” Proverbs 3: 5-6

Life is God’s Gift, Take Pleasure in It
Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to
enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work -- this is a gift of God.
